"The Center's" East Side Festival - Human Trafficking Walk-a-thon

Description: “The Center’s” East Side Festival will be held at Unity United Methodist Church. This exciting event will showcase Billy Wayne & Tattered Saints and will also host a number of great local gospel choirs, rappers, bands and professional acoustic artists the entire day. The festival includes a human trafficking walk-a-thon, variety of food vendors and kiddie activities.

Walk-a-thon registration begins at 7:30am Walk begins at 9:00am. Music begins at Noon.

Description: Aaron was a hardworking, devoted husband and father of two, who, for unknown reasons became very sick and needed multiple liver transplants and over 150 units of blood products. Sadly Aaron passed in April 2014, but his family and friends invite the community to carry on his legacy by collecting 150 units in his name to help others in need.

Guild members will demonstrated various needle work techniques throughout the show. The Needle Arts Guild of Toledo is a chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America. This event is free and open to the public.

The Northwest Ohio RV Dealers present their Free Fall RV Show, September 19-21, at The Shops at Fallen Timbers in Maumee. This is the area’s largest outdoor Fall RV Show featuring over 100 RVs from local Northwest Ohio RV Dealers.

This huge RV display will feature motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, fold down campers and more. See what’s new for 2015 including everything from the new Teardrop Trailer weighing only 875 lbs. to the Ellipse Ultra Motor home by Itasca, one of the most luxurious coaches made. You’ll see many RVs that have all the comforts of home on the road such as: outside bars and grills for tailgates and parties, real fireplaces, HD flat screen TV’s, ultra-modern kitchens, slide-outs that open up floor space, built in garages for hauling ATV’s, motorcycles, etc. and even fold-out patio decks for relaxing.

Show hours are Friday and Saturday, 10am – 7pm and Sunday, 10am – 5 pm. The Shops at Fallen Timbers is located in Maumee just off Rt. 24, 1 1/2 miles west of US23/475. Take Exit 4 toward Napoleon.

Description: Robin Meyers is a nationally known United Church of Christ pastor, professor, peace activist and the author of six books about progressive Christianity and American society. He has been the senior minister of Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ in Oklahoma City since 1985.

His Saturday lecture "Quantum Physics and the Future of God" ($15 ticket) will be from 4-5:30 p.m. including 30 minutes of Q&A. The Sunday lecture "The Underground Church: Reclaiming the Subversive Way of Jesus" (free) will be at 9:20 a.m. He will preach 2 different sermons on Sunday morning: 8:30 - Raising a Paralyzed Church and 10:40 - Original Blessing. All are welcome to worship with us. Childcare available both days.

This event will feature unique tastings from breweries from all over the country - along with crowd favorite Coors. Josh Thompson is the headline entertainment which also includes local and regional bands.
