Bittersweet Farms Offering Workshop to Raise Money for the Art Program
Category: Art
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Venue: Bittersweet Farms
Location: Whitehouse
Address: 12660 Archbold-Whitehouse Road
Whitehouse, OH

Description: Bittersweet Creative Arts (BCA) will be hosting a workshop, “Landscapes in Fused Glass,” to encourage community members to give back for #GivingTuesday.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners – charities, families, businesses, and individuals – to encourage philanthropy and giving back to celebrate generosity.

Bittersweet Farms needs to raise $10,000 for the Bittersweet Creative Arts program. Each year, it costs $100 to fund one individual in the creative arts program and Bittersweet serves over 100 individuals across four locations.

The Landscapes in Fused Glass Workshop will provide community members an intimate experience with the BCA program, while also contributing to the #GivingTuesday campaign.

Landscapes in Fused Glass will teach the basics of glass fusing during a two hour session. Community members who sign-up for the workshop will design a landscape made by cutting, assembling, and layering pieces of colored glass, stringers, and millefiori, that will fuse together when fired in a kiln. Each finished piece will include a clear acrylic easel for displaying each student’s work of art. The workshop will be led by Valerie French, Creative Arts Manager, in the Bittersweet Creative Arts Ceramics and Fused Glass Studio at Bittersweet Farms in Whitehouse, OH.

The workshop fee is $50, which will be donated to Bittersweet Creative Arts as a part of #GivingTuesday. Attendees can choose to attend one of two workshops: October 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or November 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Spots are limited so please contact Shannon Solt (ssolt@bittersweetfarms.org; 419 875 6986, ext. 1263) by October 1 to reserve your spot for one of the workshops.

Bittersweet Creative Arts provides art education, art therapy, and vocational art to adolescents and adults with autism. Bittersweet currently serves over 100 individuals with autism across four Ohio locations.
