Description: 4th Simplify Your Life
Hollywood director Tom Shadyac, best known for Ace Ventura, The Nutty Professor, Patch Adams, Bruce Almighty, and I Am, will discuss how he simplified his life in a filmed interview at Lifetree Café.

"Shadyac sold his Hollywood mansion and moved into a trailer park," says Lifetree representative Craig Cable. "He'll share his journey and offer practical help in taking the next step toward living a saner, happier, less cluttered life."
The Lifetree event, titled "Simplify Your Life," offers participants practical help to reduce clutter, complication, and chaos in everyday life, according to Cable.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available. Lifetree Café meets @The Eleanor Kahle Center 1315 Hillcrest Ave in West Toledo from 7-8 pm every Thursday. Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.

Lace It, Face It Walk for the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio

Description: Grab some friends, get some pledges, and join the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio for our Second Annual Lace It, Face It Walk sponsored by JBC & Associates, on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Olander Park in Sylvania.

LACE IT is for the walk; FACE IT is for Autism Awareness.

Register by August 15 to be GUARANTEED a Walk t-shirt and “goodie bag”. Although registrations will be accepted right up until the event starts, only a limited number of shirts will be available on walk day.

The registration fee is $20 per adult walker. Children 10 and under may walk for free without a walk t-shirt, or for $10 with a t-shirt. Participants are encouraged to raise pledges in honor of loved ones with autism and to assemble walking teams. Walkers who raise $45 in pledges (over and above their registration fee) will receive a pair of puzzle piece shoelaces specially made for the walk.

Registration begins at 8 am on the day of the event, and you can get into the park free that morning. Park near the shelter and in the Tam-O-Shanter lot next door. Walkers will start off at 9 am from the Autism Society’s location at the Open Air Shelter #2 and will cover the park’s 1.1 mile loop. Walkers may walk the loop as many times as they like. Please note that Olander does not allow dogs.

All donations raised stay right here in northwest Ohio to help us provide services to all affected by autism.

The Autism Society of Northwest Ohio is an affiliate of the oldest and largest grassroots autism organization in the country, the Autism Society of America. We provide support, education, and advocacy for individuals, parents, family members, and professionals affected by autism across the lifespan and the entire spectrum across 12 counties in Northwest Ohio. Our chapter relies heavily on donations and fundraisers in order order to provide these services, so events like the Lace It, Face It Walk are very important to our existence.
