State of Comedy: Bill Boronkay and Steve Michael Angelo Caminti
Category: Special Events
Time: 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Venue: Sandusky State Theatre
Location: No Selection
Address: 107 Columbus Ave.
Sandusky, OH

Description: he Sandusky State Theatre and Barnes Wendling CPAs are pleased to present State of Comedy featuring Bill Boronkay and headliner Stevie Michael Angelo Caminiti on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 8 PM produced by Fryman Entertainment.

Once one of the country's fastest rising sportscasters, Bill Boronkay enjoyed stops in Clarksburg, WV, Evansville, IN and Kansas City before finally landing in sunny Cleveland, where he was assigned various hazardous duties. Along the way, Boronkay won 5 Emmy’s, one of which is proudly displayed in his mother's home office behind a lamp.

After a failed audition with ESPN (a mirror was involved), Bill reevaluated his career and took off in lukewarm pursuit of his true 14th dream, and stand up.

Boronkay continues to work in Cleveland TV, hosting the, "High School Sports Insider" on SportsTime Ohio. In 2011, Bill cut back his media work to increase travel and share his less than remarkable life experiences as a never married, middle aged man.

Stevie Michael Angelo Caminiti (yes, his real name) is a Sicilian Italian. He’s not your typical New York or Brooklyn mobster but rather a 2nd generation, full blooded Mid-Western WOP. He comes from a big Italian family. His father Angelo “Banana Nose” Caminiti met his mother “Mona from Long Island” in Kentucky of all places, at his brother “Big Joe” and “Aunt Mimi’s” wedding. Stevie grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Cincinnati as the friendly, dorky, funny guy. He could always crack up the entire block and with his wealth of memories and material inspired by his Italian family his comedy career was inevitable.

Stevie Caminiti is Funny. His big smile and friendly style ensure a great night of entertainment. The unique insight he holds into the awkward relationship between men and women, as well as the humor associated with everyday life has not gone unnoticed.

He was voted Funniest Man in Cincinnati by his peers, Funniest Person in Ohio by Showtime Cable Network, and picked as Best Comedian in Cincinnati by both Cincinnati Magazine and City Beat Magazine.

Stevie combines his great energy with wonderfully strong material about sports, beer, relationships, and about being just a regular guy.

Stevie is a regular visitor on nationally syndicated talk shows, such as Bob & Tom and the Gary Burbank Show. He was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine’s Comedy Issue.

The impressive roster of Comedy Stars he has opened for includes: Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Tim Allen, Jimmy Kimmel, Carrot Top, Chris Rock and Steve Harvey. Steve has also toured with country music star Winona Judd, and opened for such stellar acts as: Todd Rundgren, Hootie and the Blowfish, The Commodores, and Ray Charles.

His television appearances include: Comedy Central, CBS Television’s 48 Hours, Showtime Cable Network, the Nashville Network, A&E, and MTV.

Stevie spent many years as a Spokesperson, for former NFL Quarterback Boomer Esiason’s, efforts in raising money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Also to his credit, he has performed for our troops on many USO Tours throughout Europe. More recently over the past few years, he has been doing performances to benefit our truest Heroes; the Fire Companies, Firefighter’s, and Police throughout the country, especially in Pennsylvania and New York, that gave selflessly of their time, as well as their lives in response to the September 11th 2001, terrorist attacks on our country.

After high school Stevie was awarded Western Golf’s Prestigious Evans Scholarship and is a proud Alumni of Miami University, as well as Elder High School in Cincinnati. He has performed at over 100 golf and country clubs throughout the country as well as for the PGA Tour.

All agree that Stevie Caminiti is fabulously funny with extraordinary material, delivery and timing, with a commanding stage presence that makes you feel as though you have known him forever. This is one truly natural talent that is guaranteed to make you laugh.
