1 tablespoon Maraschino cherry juice
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sugar
Dash cayenne pepper
cup walnut halves
Combine all ingredients except walnut halves in small saucepan and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 1 minute. Add walnut halves; stir until coated with sugar. Continue heating over low heat until walnuts are browned.
Sprinkle with additional teaspoon sugar and cool.
