Glass City hosts beer fest Friday

The sixth Annual Glass City Beer Fest will serve up suds to the Erie Street Market on Friday night as 27 micro-breweries bring more than 100 different beers to town for tasting. Best of all, 100 percent of the proceeds from the event go to charity.

Benefiting will be The ARC of Lucas County and the Northwest Ohio Hemophilia Foundation.

The festival will include beers from the Great Lakes Brewing Co., Stevens Point, Goose Island Beer Co., Granite City Brewing, Northcoast Brewing Co., Pyramid Brewing, Maumee Bay Brewing Co., Sierra Nevada, and others.

It will take place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and food vendors include Vito's Pizza and City Barbecue. Music will be by 56 Daze. The Erie Street Market is at 237 S. Erie St. in downtown Toledo.

Tickets are $25 in advance from any Andersons store and $30 at the door. Tickets for military personnel, firefighters, and police officers are $20. Each admission ticket will include 12 taste tickets, which allows a person to receive a 3 ounce taste of a beer per ticket. Additional taste tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
