LANSING — Estimates say Michigan’s apple growers likely will see a big harvest this year after weather destroyed most of last year’s crop.

The Michigan Apple Committee estimates about 30 million bushels will be harvested this year. In 2012, the Michigan Apple Committee says, conditions led to only about 3 million bushels of apples being harvested.

Michigan typically is the third largest producer of apples in the United States, behind Washington and New York.
