To the editor: Silent voters still in the corner of President

12/26/2017

While speaking with peers and people I meet, I don’t find many who disapprove of the performance of President Trump. Yet, we see his approval ratings at historical lows.

It seems that the silent majority is not only the predominance of voters, but it also consists of people who refrain from surveys. The vote in three years will be interesting indeed.

We need to realize that the Republicans and the Democrats need to change their approach. The two parties have divided the nation.

Seniors not taking glamorous trips

I sympathize with the reader who will be receiving only a $3 increase in his Social Security. My husband is going to receive $3, and I am getting $0.

We were discussing where we could take a vacation on the extra $36 dollars we will receive next year. We will probably drive to Lake Erie and gaze at the algal blooms when they are at the height of their season.

Zoo should add some holiday cheer

While waiting at the Anthony Wayne Trail entrance to the Toledo Zoo to pay the $7 parking fee and then the $17 admission fee, I noticed that there are no decorated trees.

Perhaps an increase in admission or another zoo levy would provide a festive entrance during the holidays.
