Brittany Lincicome, winner of the LPGA's first major championship in 2009, and two of the biggest young names in women's golf have committed to play in this summer's Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, the tournament announced yesterday.

Michelle Wie, in her first year as an LPGA member, and Morgan Pressel, runner-up in the 2007 Farr Classic, are scheduled to join Lincicome in the field at Highland Meadows Golf Club on July 2-5.

Lincicome eagled the 72nd hole to score a dramatic win in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, an LPGA major, earlier this year.

"Brittany, Morgan, and Michelle are three of the top young Americans on the tour and will add a lot of excitement to the tournament," said Judd Silverman, the Farr Classic director.

The 25th anniversary tournament is shaping up to have one of its best fields in recent years. Previously, the Farr announced that No. 1-ranked Lorena Ochoa and defending champion Paula Creamer had signed the commitment sheet to compete in the event.

Pressel has played in three Farr Classics, once as an amateur, and finished second in '07 with a 14-under-par total fashioned around cards of 68-70-64-68. She earned about $120,000 in that year's tournament.

"Morgan came so close to winning the event a couple of years ago and really endeared herself to area golf fans," Silverman said.

Lincicome has played in the Farr each of the last two years and has posted a pair of top-20 finishes, including a tie for seventh last summer.

Wie first appeared in Toledo as an amateur in '03 and competed as a nonmember professional last year, finishing tied for 46th.
