Kelly Heil became just the third player in Southview history to score over 1,000 points last night as she poured in 27 in the Cougars' 54-51 loss at home to Perrysburg in girls basketball.

Heil now has 1,015 points and trails the school's leading scorer, Lisa Kovack, by 203.

Karri Barkus is the other Cougar player with more than 1,000 points.

Perrysburg's Kirsten Hoffman scored a team-high 17 points. Kelly Crain added 14 and Jenny Langevine had 10 for the undefeated Yellow Jackets (4-0, 2-0).

Stacey Raszka chipped in with 13 points for Southview (1-1, 0-1).


NORTHVIEW 71, BOWLING GREEN 62

BOWLING GREEN - Northview outscored Bowling Green 11-1 in overtime after the Bobcats had the ball with 35 seconds eft in regulation but couldn't score.

Natalie Bennett led Northview (2-1) with 26 points. Sarah Johnson added 16 and Nikki Smith 13.

Bennett made 14 of Northview's successful foul shots. BG sank six.

Bowling Green (0-3) got 21 points from Anne Dunipace and 11 from Rachel Mellon.


ANTHONY WAYNE 50, ROSSFORD 42

Stephanie Willets scored 12 points and Leslie Everhart added 11 for Anthony Wayne (2-0, 1-0 NLL).

Allison Zemanski led visiting Rossford (1-3, 0-1) with 22 points.

Zemanski had five field goals, and no other Bulldog had more than one. Willets and Everhart each scored three times for the field, and no other General did so more than twice.


MAUMEE 65, SPRINGFIELD 44

Maumee pressed its away to an 18-3 lead, then parlayed that advantage into a 25-point margin at the half.

Dana Halsey paced the host Panthers (1-2, 1-1 NLL) with 12 and Lisa Wierzbicki chipped in with 11.

Alex Bird led Springfield (0-3, 0-2) with 11.


DEFIANCE 68, BOWSHER 57

DEFIANCE - Balance paid off for Defiance as Kara Jones scored 18 points, Sara Snavely 17 and Emily Rolf 14.

Jazlyn Davis led Bowsher with 26 points and Kamesha Hairston added 19.

Defiance won the battle of the boards by just one - 23-22 - but forced 44 Rebel turnovers while committing just 25.


BRYAN 38, WAYNE TRACE 37

BRYAN - Megan Heisler scored 14 points, Sarah Betts tied the game in regulation and Thea Crist scored all four of the Bears' overtime points.


LIBERTY CENTER 72, HOLGATE 60

LIBERTY CENTER - Katie McClure scored 24 points, including four treys, and Kathryn Davis and Megan Wachtman addded 19 apiece for Liberty Center (3-0).

Vanessa Rothman led Holgate (3-2) with 20 points, Jenny Fruth added 11 and Serena Urdiales 10.


DELTA 33, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 27

Sara Tracy scored just over half of Delta's points - 17 - as the Panthers (2-2) won a defensive battle.

Ashley Futrell led host Toledo Christian (0-3) with nine points.


ARCHBOLD 82, FAIRVIEW 69

ARCHBOLD - Betsy Stotzer scored 22 points, Jessica Ziegler added 17, Jennifer Hurst 16 and Jill Evans 15 for Archold (4-0).

Amber Sims scored 26 for Fairview.
