Girls basketball roundup: Bowsher overwhelms Whitmer

Jazlyn Davis scored 24 points, leading Bowsher to a 63-37 victory over Whitmer last night in girls basketball.

Whitmer kept it close for a quarter, but then Bowsher took control with a 17-8 advantage in the second quarter for a 32-19 halftime lead.

Kamesha Hairston added 16 points for Bowsher (6-5).

Miranda Gunn and Danielle Hinz were high for the Panthers with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

SOUTHVIEW 65, START 57

Kelly Heil scored 11 of her 29 points in the first quarter as Southview got off to a 19-12 lead and held on for the victory.

Start kept making runs at the Cougars (5-2), but Southview hit 21 of 38 free throws to maintain its lead; the Spartans made 8 of 16.

Stephanie Kneisley added 16 points for Southview. Brooke Walker (14 points), Che Rogers (13) and Kaishia Holder (12) led Start in scoring.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 65, HOPEWELL-LOUDON 43

BASCOM - Tiffany Dougherty and Nicole Brown scored 15 each for the Irish (8-0).

PETTISVILLE 50, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 40

Jennifer Rupp scored 21 points and McCrae Johnson added 14 for visiting Pettisville (3-6).

Ashley Futrell had 16 points for the Eagles (0-6). Laura Markwood had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

ROGERS 76, LIBBEY 54

Ashley Ellis scored 19 points to lead Rogers (5-5) in a non-league contest.

Candace Brown added 15 points and Erica Bond-Awls and Gina Morton 14 apiece for Rogers (5-5).

Sharonda Willis had 26 points, Erica Harthorne 12 and Mattie Mays 10 for visiting Libbey.

MAUMEE VALLEY 56, CARDINAL STRITCH 41

Kathy Shelley scored a game-high 25 points for the visiting Hawks (8-1, 3-0 TAAC) while Megan Sieberg contributed 17.

Nicole Kryzminski paced Cardinal Stritch (6-2, 2-1 TAAC) with 12 and Lyndsey Widner added 10.

DANBURY 49, EMMANUEL BAPTIST 37

Ashley Dress tallied 20 points and Christine Banyak added 16, pacing the visiting Lakers (3-5, 2-1)

Bethany VanDenBerghe paced Emmanuel Baptist with 11 points.

EASTWOOD 67, NORTHWOOD 26

Libbe Speck paced the visiting Eagles (8-1) with 17 points and Stacey Wieland added 13.

Emily Reardon's eight points led Northwood (2-9).

NAPOLEON 63, BRYAN 44

NAPOLEON - Stephanie Gerkin scored 12 points, Kristin Heminger 11 and Kayla Mengerink and Louise Schiple 10 each as the Wildcats improved to 6-5.
