Boys basketball roundup: Perrysburg defeats Maumee

Burke Badenhop scored 19 points and Hal Munger had 16 as Perrysburg defeated Maumee 62-52 last night in a Northern Lakes League battle.

The visiting Panthers got 12 points from Alan Sund and 11 from Nick Porter.

After leading by two points after three quarters, the Yellow Jackets (9-2, 6-1) outscored Maumee 23-15 in the final quarter with Badenhop getting six and Munger four.

NORTHVIEW 70, ANTHONY WAYNE 54

Steve Horner scored 32 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Northview (11-2, 6-1 NLL), which jumped to a 20-9 lead after one quarter.

Jon Meyer scored 16 and Taylor Jaskolski 13 for visiting Anthony Wayne (6-5, 4-3), which hit 20 of 22 foul shots.

SPRINGFIELD 46, BOWLING GREEN 41

Matt Kelly scored 19 points and Matt Hall added 11, including eight in the third quarter, as Springfield surprised visiting Bowling Green.

Tyler Meyer led Bowling Green with 11 points and Chris Hanna added 10.

Bowling Green hit seven treys to none for Springfield, but the Devils had 19 2-pointers while the Bobcats had nine.

SOUTHVIEW 68, ROSSFORD 49

Matt Rheinecker and Nate Smith each scored 16 points and Anton Hubbard added 10 for visiting Southview.

Kyle Ingraham had 20 and Jim Ogdahl 12 for Rossford.

DEFIANCE 71, BOWSHER 63

Brock Dodrill scored 23 points and Marc Franz added 22 - five treys and seven foul shots - to pace Defiance.

Jamaal Jones had 19, Mike Menchaca 16 and Jeff Hartwig 11 for Bowsher.

EVERGREEN 63, OTTAWA HILLS 58

Matt Mossing scored 24 points, including 22 in the second half, to pace visiting Evergreen. Jake Teal added 14 points and Dan Stong 11 for the Vikings.

Austin Irving led Ottawa Hills with 18, Dan Jamieson had 15 and Kevin Crooks 14 for Ottawa Hills.

ARCHBOLD 55, HILLTOP 50

WEST UNITY - Brian King scored 13 points and Jason Rose added 12 for Archbold.

Kiel Miller had 15 and Tom Kerr 14 for Hilltop.

CARDINAL STRITCH 57, NORTHWOOD 53

Cardinal Stritch hit 8 of 12 foul shots in the fourth quarter, including 5 of 6 in the final minute by Aaron Mochon, to hold off visiting Northwood.

Brad Gasser led Stritch (3-8, 1-3 TAAC) with 16 points - but none from the foul line - and Nick Waldmannstetter added 11.

Ken Wines had 17 and Eric Greer 16 for Northwood (8-4, 4-4).

LENAWEE CHRISTIAN 74, EMMANUEL BAPTIST 51

Lenawee Christian hit four treys in the first quarter on the way to a 22-9 advantage.

Seth Barton led Lenawee Christian (8-1) with 15 points, Mike Folkert added 13 and David Van Winkle 12.

Emmanuel Baptist (5-5) got 14 from Darryl Lothery, 13 from Drew Flamm and 10 from Lance Bernhard.

WHITEFORD 59, WHITMORE LAKE 47

WHITMORE LAKE - Nate Gust scored 22 points as Whiteford won its fifth in a row.

MONROE SMCC 56, JEFFERSON 34

MONROE - Erik Lehman and Jon Robinson each scored 14 points - and Robinson grabbed eight rebounds - for St. Mary Catholic Central (11-1).

Mike Barton led Jefferson (1-10) with eight.

DUNDEE 75, BLISSFIELD 60

BLISSFIELD - Caleb Porter scored 17 points and Derek Feldkamp added 16 for Blissfield (6-3).

Dan Fugate poured in 36 for Dundee (5-3).

PETERSBURG - Chris Stamper had eight for Deerfield and Matt Soldwish had nine for Summerfield, which was unable to score in double figures in any quarter.
