Suburban Lakes: Strong second half gives Otsego a win

TONTOGANY - Otsego broke loose for three second-half touchdowns to knock off Wayne Trace 20-16.

Reggie Donald started the scoring for the Knights with a four-yard fumble return in the third quarter.

Ben Tippenhauer added a 48-yard touchdown jaunt in the fourth quarter followed by 42-yard run from Garrett Bays.

Tippenhauer had 16 carries for 115 yards and Bays 14 for 70 yards.

Troy Mangetta punched in a two-yards run in the first quarter for Wayne Trace and Tom Ferrell scored from 28 yards out in the fourth quarter.

Otsego outrushed the Raiders 179 yards to 93, but was limited to 31 yards passing while Wayne Trace had 170 yards.

MILLBURY - Northwood ran for 330 yards and added 51 in the air in a romp over Lake.

Josh Grigson scored on runs of 20 and 40 yards and Shawn Cousino ran seven yards for one TD and hit Matt Donegan with a 30-yard scoring pass.

Donegan also scored on a 51-yard run.

Scott Posey scored TDs on runs of one and six yards.

Lake had 105 yards passing but just 34 rushing.

PEMBERVILLE - Sanduksy Perkins scored first, but Eastwood exploded for 21 points in the second quarter and added 14 more in the second half with Jaycee Brown accounting for four touchdowns.

Andy Stickel opened the Eagles' scoring with a two-yard touchdown reception from Kevin Leady.

Brown followed with TD runs of 23, 19, 6, and 1 yards.

Perkins scored on a 13-yard pass from Dennis Bird to Dominic Giardina. Bird also scored on a one-yard run.

BLOOMDALE - All the scoring was in the first half as Adam Blachuta led the way with two touchdowns.

He tallied twice, receiving touchdown tosses 18 and 6 yards from the Royals' quarterback Kyle Rhoad.

Doug Tucker opened the scoring for Elmwood with a 67-yard touchdown burst. Brian Berry concluded the point parade with a 10-yard TD run.

GIBSONBURG - Tyler Donnell scored touchdowns on runs of five and three yards, and Ryan Wasserman hit scoring passes of 60 yards to Angelo Peake and 34 to B.J. Ernsthausen to pace Gibsonburg.

Wasserman hit 5 of 10 passes for 160 yards to go with 199 yards rushing.

Hicksville ran for 235 but added just 23 in the air.

ELMORE - The Polar Bears' powerful ground game proved too much for the Wildcats to handle.

Adam Pooch and Robby Lewis ran for two touchdowns apiece as Margaretta (2-0) amassed 230 yards on 39 rushing attempts.

The Wildcats (1-1) were limited to 32 yards on 31 carries.

Michael Kayden scored the only touchdown for Woodmore on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter.

BASCOM - The Chieftains scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters in the lopsided victory.

Jason Bodart threw two touchdown passes and ran for another, while Shawn Borer tallied two rushing touchdowns.
