Girls basketball roundup: Northwood rallies past Libbey

Guard Kelly Parrish hit two 3-pointers and three free throws and post Stacy Ziegler added seven points in a 21-13 fourth-quarter that rallied Northwood past Libbey 50-44 last night in girls basketball.

Parrish and Ziegler finished with 18 and 17 points, respectively, and Meryl Smith had 10 for the Rangers (3-1).

Janea Wilson tallied 17 points and Anastasha White 13 for the visiting Cowboys (1-5).

WOODWARD 67, MAUMEE VALLEY 43

Markeisha Hudgins threw in 18 points to lead the Polar Bears, whose fast break and rebounding helped them to a 37-17 halftime lead at home.

Lanada Whitlock added 12 points and Brittany Stenson 11 for Woodward (3-4).

Whitlock and Hudgins grabbed 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.

Megan Sieberg scored 23 points and Christine Loyd added 13 for the Hawks (1-2).

SWANTON 68, WAITE 31

SWANTON - The Bulldogs had four players score in double figures and outrebounded the Indians 36-16.

Jamie Phillips led Swanton (3-2) with 16 points. Chelsea White added 13, Jennifer Keesey 12 and Emily Witt 10. White and Katie Miller added six rebounds apiece.

Shonika Knowles led Waite (0-4) with eight points.

ANTHONY WAYNE 62, ROGERS 33

Chrissy Gothke scored 13 points and Kelly Zunkiewicz had 12 for the visiting Generals, who led 40-15 at the half.

Regina Funches paced the Rams (0-5) with 13 points.

EVERGREEN 65, EMMANUEL BAPTIST 35

METAMORA - Katie Johnston scored 20 points and Leslie Stong put in 18 for the Vikings (2-1), who outscored the visitors 15-5 at the line.

Shanna Elston scored nine points to pace Emmanuel (1-3), which suffered 37 turnovers to Evergreen's 18.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 61, PETTISVILLE 58

Kristen Schweer poured in 26 points for the Eagles (3-2), who led 22-10 after one quarter and held on at home.

EDGERTON 67, FAYETTE 49

EDGERTON - Chivonn Keppeler contributed 31 points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks as the Bulldogs (3-1) rolled.

Sarah Bird and Sarah Lichtenwald scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Eagles (1-3).
