Girls basketball: Kerkulah paces Maumee with 31

BOWLING GREEN - Reva Kerkulah made 16 of 27 free throws and scored 31 points to lead Maumee to a 61-53 victory over Bowling Green in Northern Lakes League girls basketball.

Katie Greisinger added 12 for the Panthers (3-2, 1-2).

Liz Chibucos led Bowling Green (1-5, 1-2) with 21. Rachel Melon had 12.

PERRYSBURG 99, ROSSFORD 22

Laura Markwood scored 25 points and Jenny Langevin had 21 for Perrysburg (5-0, 3-0 NLL).

The host Yellow Jackets, who led 44-9 at halftime, got 14 from Jenny Gibson and 10 from Sara Hughes.

Rossford is 1-4, 0-2.

NORTHVIEW 84, SPRINGFIELD 45

Every player scored for Northview (4-1, 2-0 NLL) led by Nickki Smith's 20 points. Julia Dempster tallied 14, Niki McCoy had 12 and Brooke Amstutz added 10.

Alex Bird led visiting Springfield with 21.

Kelly Zunkiewica led the visiting Generals (3-2, 2-1 NLL) with 16 points. Leslie Everhart added 13. Southview is 1-3, 1-2.

FREMONT - Kate Achter ignited the Eagles (5-0, 2-0 GLL) with 15 points. Kristen Crawford had 10. Tia Simms led Fremont Ross (0-4, 0-1) with10.

FINDLAY 60, WHITMER 52

Whitmer cut an eight-point Findlay lead to one in the fourth quarter, but the Panthers could get no closer, despite 18 points from Bridget Buss and 12 from Sara Sheperd.

Candice McQueen led visiting Findlay with 21 points.

PEMBERVILLE - Eastwood had to rally to stay unbeaten in the SLL, outscoring Woodmore 17-7 in the final quarter.

Whitney Hartman led the Eagles (4-1, 3-0). Jessica Schutt added 13.

Leah Garcia led the Wildcats (4-1) with 14 points. Megan Abbey contributed 11.
