Chris Wilson and Mike Quinlan each tossed in 24 points for Ottawa Hills as it edged Northwood 54-51 in Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball last night.

Only four players scored for the Green Bears (3-2, 1-0), who shot 57 percent from the field to the home team's 40 percent.

The Bears were outscored by the home team 9-3 at the free-throw line but posted a 20-16 advantage in the final quarter.

Mike Shaneck scored 12 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter for Northwood (1-3, 0-1). Matt Donegan added 10.

Wilson added 12 rebounds for OH.

CARDINAL STRITCH 55, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 46

Cardinal Stritch forced 11 turnovers in the first quarter and turned them into a 15-0 lead in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference game.

Craig Heuring and Shawn Gargac led the Cardinals (1-2 overall, 1-0 TAAC) with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Alex Wenzel led the Eagles (0-5, 0-2) with 11 points.

FREMONT ROSS 77, WOODWARD 63

FREMONT - Chad Clark scored 19 points to lead five Little Giants in double figures.

Fremont (4-1) was outscored at the free-throw line 13-5 but nailed 35 field goals to the visitors' 22. The Giants' 19-9 second-quarter advantage was the difference.

Dan Thompson and Matt Zilles added 14 apiece for Ross, Terrence Jones had 13 and Luke Lyle chipped in 11.

Mike Finch (15), Lorenzo Bestor (13), Vincent Butler (13) and Alex Malone (11) reached doubled figures for the Polar Bears (1-3).

SPRINGFIELD 37, BEDFORD 34

Marquis Hayes tallied 16 points in a cold-shooting game in which the Blue Devils (1-3) maintained a lead throughout the second half.

Jason Crooks scored 10 to pace the visiting Mules (1-2).

DUNDEE 64, IDA 50

DUNDEE, Mich. - Chris Ternes scored 17 and Matt Rodabaugh 16 for Dundee (3-0, 1-0 LCAA).

Kurt Vandecaveye tallied 12 for Ida (0-3, 0-1).

GROSSE ILLE 49, MONROE SMCC 44

GROSSE ILLE, Mich. - Ivan Mahanic scored 19 points and Lance Palmara had all 11 of his points in the fourth quarter as Grosse Ille (3-0, 1-0 Huron) outscored the Falcons 19-14.

Harris Kennard tallied 13 points for St. Mary Catholic Central (1-2, 1-1).

ARCHBOLD 57, WAUSEON 48

ARCHBOLD - The Blue Streaks surged to a 26-14 first-quarter lead and stayed on top, making 10 of 14 fourth-quarter free throws (5 of 6 by Kurt Cline) to stay ahead in a battle of NWOAL unbeatens.

Each team had balanced scoring. Dan Borcherdt, Cline and D.J. Selgo tallied 12, 11 and 10 for the Streaks (4-0), while Zach Fether, Brock Mealer and Ben Gunn netted 13, 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Indians (4-1).

Archbold won the game at the line, sinking 16 of 21 free throws while Wauseon managed only 7 of 16.

LIBERTY CENTER 70, FAIRVIEW 53

SHERWOOD - Greg Badenhop and Tyler Sharpe tossed in 23 and 22 points, respectively, to lead the visiting Tigers, who shot 51 percent from the field and outscored the home team 17-8 at the free-throw line.

Nick Meyer scored 14 points for the Apaches.

NORTH CENTRAL 55, MONTPELIER 50

PIONEER - Colt Fackler and Kyle Pettit scored 16 points apiece as North Central took its first win.

Brian Nelson led the visiting Locomotives with 22 points and B.J. Ogden added 17.

McCOMB 60, NORTH BALTIMORE 52

NORTH BALTIMORE - Eric Conley scored 20 points for McComb, which took a 48-34 lead after three quarters and held on.

CORY-RAWSON 60, FOSTORIA ST. WENDELIN 48

FOSTORIA - Daniel Dray hit five 3-pointers and netted 23 points for the Hornets (3-3).
