NWOAL roundup: Brown scores 30 as Evergreen wins

METAMORA - Evergreen had just four players score last night in the Border Classic - but Matt Brown doubled his average with 30 points as the Vikings beat Morenci 72-60.

Doc Skeldon added 18 and Brent Simon 15 for Evergreen, which led 23-13 after one quarter.

Chris Heyduk had 14, Aaron McClure 13 and Ryan McDowell 12 for Morenci.

FOSTORIA - Wauseon took advantage of its superior size and made a 23-11 halftime lead stand up in a holiday tournament victory.

Brook Mealer led Wauseon (6-1) with 19 points and Ben Gunn added 10.

Mike Shaneck led Northwood with 19, Matt Dugan had 11 and Jason Jacob 10.

CELINA, Ohio - Jon Kingston led Grandview Heights with 19 points in the Celina Invitational. Grandview Heights blanked Bryan 13-0 in the second quarter to take control.

Chris Carpenter paced Bryan with 15.

FAYETTE - The Eagles outscored visiting Swanton 16-8 in the second quarter to advance to the championship of their holiday tournament.

Michael Bird scored a game-high 14 points to lead Fayette, which also got 13 from Tyler Bacon and 11 from Nick Lavinder.

Joe Rhodes and Josh Pirrwitz each scored 13 for the Bulldogs.
