Elmwood surprises Eastwood

BLOOMDALE - Elmwood defeated Eastwood 45-38 last night, ending Eastwood's Suburban Lakes League winning streak at 71.

Elmwood (8-2, 6-0) had four in double figures - Stephanie Wagner (12), Sarah Morgart (11), Andrea Reynolds (10) and Meeghan Gonzales (10).

Whitney Hartman led Eastwood (7-4, 5-1) with 13 and Kim Young added 11.

NORTHVIEW 80, MAUMEE 35

Nikki Smith led Northview (8-1, 5-0 NLL) with 22 points, Brooke Amstutz added 18 and Julia Dempster had 12.

Katie Greisiger and Reva Kerkulah each scored 10 for Maumee (7-4, 3-3).

PERRYSBURG 65, SPRINGFIELD 30

Jenny Langevin scored 21 to pace Perrysburg (9-2, 5-1 NLL). Laura Markwood had 11 and Tiffany Calevro 10.

SOUTHVIEW 51, BOWLING GREEN 49

Liz Tansey scored off a rebound with two seconds remaining for Southview.

Kristi McCoy led Southview with 18 points and Stephanie Kneisley had 17.

Liz Chibucos scored 19 for Bowling Green and Rachel Mellon added 10.

Sarah Meyer scored 10 points and 11 Generals scored.

NAPOLEON - Kate Achter scored 33 points for unbeaten Clay. She made 11 of 12 foul shots as Clay hit 19 of 26.

Sara Sheperd scored 18, including four consecutive treys, and Bridget Buss added 13 for Whitmer (5-6, 3-1 GLL).

MILLBURY - Lindsay Heidebrink scored 20 points to lead Lake. Megan Abbey scored 19 for Woodmore and Leah Garcia added 10.

GENOA 69, OTSEGO 59

GENOA - Courtney Nissen scored 21 points, Nicole Nissen had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Keri Williams added 13 points for Genoa.

Erin Limes led Otsego with 24 and Jenny McVey added 11.

KANSAS - Sarah Walby scored 21 and Mallory Fleming 17 for Gibsonburg. Ashley Broski had 14 and Kelly Gosche 11 for Lakota.

ARCHBOLD - The Streaks (7-2, 3-0 NWOAL) got 23 points and 11 rebounds from Sarah Grime. Amy Wanemacher added 15 points and Betsy Stotzer 13. Danielle Finch led Montpelier with 11.

METAMORA - Karyn Creager scored 20 points and Amanda Coressel 14 for Patrick Henry (10-1, 3-0 NWOAL).

Leslie Stong had 17 for Evergreen and Katie Johnston 12.

SWANTON - Wauseon won a foul-shooting contest - 29 of 39 to Swanton's 20 of 35.

Wauseon scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, all from the foul line.

Sara Roth led Wauseon with 16 and Mackenzie Carroll added 12. Jennifer Keesey led Swanton with 12 and Katie Miller had 10.

BRYAN 51, LIBERTY CENTER 34

BRYAN - Thea Crist scored 14, Brette Zuver 12 and Sara Fee 11 for Bryan (6-3, 1-1 NWOAL).

Katie McClure scored 28 of Liberty Center's 34 points.

NORTHWOOD 63, DANBURY 62

Casey Kelly hit one of two free throws with six seconds left for Northwood. Amanda Agler led the Rangers (7-2, 3-0 TAAC) with 16 points, Kelly Parrish added 14 and Stacy Ziegler 13.

Sarah Beasley scored 23 for Danbury (3-7, 1-3).

OTTAWA HILLS 52, EMMANUEL BAPTIST 22

Lauren Kruse scored 21 points and Julie Lorkowski added 11 for Ottawa Hills (5-4, 3-1 TAAC).

Kathleen Bergman led Stritch (10-2, 4-1 TAAC) with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Kristen Ameling added 10 points.
