Prophet leads Sandusky to victory over Whitmer

Whitmer scored the first nine points of the third quarter to pull ahead, but visiting Sandusky finished the period with a one-point lead and never gave it up again in a 62-58 Great Lakes League victory last night.

Jason Prophet led three Blue Streaks (12-6, 5-3) in double figures with 21 points. Ryan Williams added 16 and Dustin Truman had 12.

Todd Lindroth poured in 20 points for the Panthers (10-8, 5-4). Cory Burghardt chipped in with 14, J.J. Fought 12 and Jermaine Fletcher 10 for Whitmer, which made 61 percent of its shots from the field but just 24 percent of its 3-point tries.

Sandusky shot 53 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 12 times to the Panthers' 17.

Whitmer was just 8-for-15 at the free-throw line. The Streaks were 13-for-16.

NAPOLEON - Jason Plassman scored 23 points and Mike Lange added 17 for Napoleon (5-13, 2-6).

Clay (4-14, 0-8) got 15 from John Nelson, 13 from Bryan McDougle and 12 from Nick Zenk.
