Boys basketball roundup: Perkins paces Woodmore win

NORWALK - Buddy Perkins scored 16 points and hit a layup with 5.1 seconds remaining to give Woodmore a 52-50 victory over Margaretta last night in a Division III sectional final.

Perkins was fouled on the play and missed the free throw. Margaretta then missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Marcus McGee added 12 points and Tyler Rosenberger eight for Woodmore.

Jake Meisler led Margaretta with 14.

Margaretta led 26-13 at the half but Woodmore outscored the Polar Bears 25-7 in the third quarter to take the lead.

HURON 42, WESTERN RESERVE 35

NORWALK - Paul Dence paced Huron with 15 and Mike Eirons added 10.

WAUSEON 55, DELTA 38

Zach Fether and Brock Mealer each scored 16 and Lucas Elson added 10 for Wauseon (16-5) at Northview.

Ryan Parson led Delta (7-15) with 20.

The Indians led 22-7 after one quarter.

LIBERTY CENTER 65, EVERGREEN 48

Grag Badenhop poured in 31 points and Eric Wymer had 21 for Liberty Center (16-5) at Northview.

Matt Brown had 14 and Doc Skeldon 13 for Evergreen (11-10).

ARCHBOLD 65, FAIRVIEW 50

DEFIANCE - A 20-4 second quarter put Archbold in control.

Dan Borcherdt led Archbold (18-3) with 22 and DJ Selgo added 10.

Bryce Rhodes led Fairview (3-18) with 21.

Archbold hit 28 of 34 free throws while Fairview canned 2 of 4.

WAYNE TRACE 65, TINORA 54

DEFIANCE - Nathan Overmyer scored 30 to pace Wayne Trace (10-12).

Scott Bostelman had 21 for Tinora (12-9).

PATRICK HENRY 81, LAKOTA 42

FINDLAY - Patrick Henry rolled as Justin Bostelman scored 21, Zach Wensink and Adam Mass each had 12 and Logan Haake and Dustin Hockman each scored 11.

Dan Boulee scored 12 for Lakota.

LIBERTY-BENTON 61, OTSEGO 59

FINDLAY - Liberty-Benton (16-5) survived a 20-point fourth quarter by Otsego (12-10).

Adam Smith Led Liberty-Benton with 20 points and David Moorhead added 15.

Brodie Miller led Otsego with 24, Damien Montelongo added 15 and Jordan Murphy 10.
