Findlay second in state gymnastics

DUBLIN, Ohio - Katie Niksa scored at least a 9 in all four events and teammate Betsy Norris scored at least a 9 in three events as Rocky River Magnificat won its second straight state gymnastics championship at Dublin Coffman last night.

Those scores helped the Blue Streaks compile 145.3 points, 1.975 points ahead of runner-up Findlay (143.325).

The Trojans had the top team scores on both the balance beam (35.825) and the floor exercise (36.825).

Maumee finished 10th among 12 teams with a 135.5 total.

The individual event and all-around competition is today.
