NWOAL: Kmic key as Delta pulls away

WAUSEON - Wauseon hung on for a half before the Delta Panthers pulled away on tailback Nate Kmic's five touchdowns in a 40-19 victory last night.

Kmic, who racked up 233 yards on 17 carries, scored on runs of 25, 55, 45, 35, and 1 yard for Delta (3-0, 4-0), which also scored on a 58-yard pass from Ryan Vicars to Glenn Borck.

Fullback Tyler Gearig scored on jaunts of 19 and 59 yards for Wauseon (1-1, 2-2), amassing 137 yards on 20 carries. Mike Webster caught a five-yard TD pass from Craig Holman for the Indians.

METAMORA - Nick Cameron and Phil Baden ran for first-half touchdowns for the Blue Streaks (2-0, 3-1).

Casey Nofziger led Archbold's rushers with 18 carries for 70 yards and Cameron added 10 totes for 69 yards.

The Vikings, who netted 209 yards of total offense - only 11 less than Archbold - finally scored with 2:30 left in the game when quarterback Brett Simon culminated a 65-yard drive with a one-yard run.

SWANTON - The Bulldogs' Brian Hildebrand rushed for 168 yards, scored two touchdowns and caught a pass for another score.

Swanton QB Kyle Kissling was 7-of-15 for 181 yards and threw two touchdowns. Ken Hulme ran for 65 yards, scored once on the ground and once on a pass reception.

Montpelier quarterback Stewart Thorpe was 11-of-22 for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Curt Moore had 161 receiving yards and one TD catch. Tony Pawlowicz rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown.

NAPOLEON - The Wildcats overcame a 10-point deficit in the first quarter, as Blake Bolton scored three touchdowns and Napoleon racked up 351 yards.

Bolton rushed 20 times for 95 yards and scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards. He also scored on an 11-yard pass from Ryan Funchion.

Terence Clayton rushed for 81 yards on nine attempts and Funchion passed for 117 yards for Napoleon (3-1).

Jamie Lorentz led Bryan (0-4) with 86 yards rushing.
