Girls basketball roundup: Johnson, Davis lead Bowsher to win

Stephany Johnson scored 21 points and Jazlyn Davis added 18 as Bowsher defeated visiting Notre Dame 57-49 last night in girls basketball.

The Rebels, who outscored Notre Dame 18-9 in the second quarter, improved to 11-1 overall and 6-0 in the City League.

Mallory Myers led Notre Dame (7-4, 3-3) with 17 points and Heather Wiczynski added 12. Those two combined for seven treys.

Bowsher hit 10 of 18 foul shots to Notre Dame s 6 of 10.

CLAY 69, ANTHONY WAYNE 46

Kate Achter scored 27 points to lead Clay (8-3), which posted a 33-10 advantage at halftime and outscored the Generals 20-8 in the third quarter.

Nina Mlynek contributed 16 points for Clay.

Steph Hoover and Steph Allison had 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Anthony Wayne (1-10).

ST. URSULA 59, SOUTHVIEW 49

Emily Florian scored 13 points, Jena Blosser added 12 and Ali Florian had 10 for the visiting Arrows, who made 21 of 28 free throws to Southview s 9-of-16.

Kelsey Navarre tallied 12 and Jessica Hausfeld and Liz Tansey chipped in with 10 apiece for the Cougars.

BLOOMDALE - Carrie Ritzler scored 13 points and visiting Hopewell-Loudon outscored Elmwood 19-9 in the fourth quarter.

Kelly Wagner led Elmwood with 14 and Brittany Berry added 11.

LAKESIDE - Amanda Agler scored 17 points, Jamie Flick added 15 and Brittany Bogart 13 as Northwood (7-3, 5-0 TAAC) was in control all the way.

Brittany Bird and Erin Steinbrick each scored 15 for Danbury, with Bird s coming on five treys.

Kelcee Evans and Kristen Ameling each scored 15 points for Stritch (10-2). Brittany Barrera added 13.

Amanda Ritzler paced Calvert (7-6) with 22.

Julie Lorkowski and Gabby Hajzar scored 13 points each to pace Ottawa Hills,, which jumped to a 15-8 lead after one quarter then hung on.

Charlotte Jones led Emmanuel Baptist with 20 points.

ARCHBOLD 75, WAYNE TRACE 46

ARCHBOLD - Kara Buehrer scored 21 points and Sarah Grime added 16 for Archbold, which raced to a 21-8 lead after one quarter.

Buehrer also had seven rebounds as the Streaks had a 40-26 advantage there.

MILLER CITY - Brooke Hermiller scored 19 points and Lynn Schroeder added 18 for Milelr City (14-0). Schroeder also grabbed 10 rebounds.

Haley Badenhop led Patrick Henry (8-3) with 13 and Amanda Coressel and Alison Meyers each added 11.

SWANTON - Crystal Skeldon tallied 11 points to pave the way for Evergreen (8-2, 3-2 NWOAL).

OAK HARBOR - Jen Moor scored 16 points, Megan Bodnar 13 and Jeanne Osborne 10 for Oak Harbor (12-0), which has won 36 straight regular-season games.

Stephanie Meyer had 18 for Clyde.

HOLGATE - Cassie Giesige threw in 25 points and Crystal Myers added 11 for Holgate (2-11), which led 26-14 at the half.

Lindsay Rice paced the Blackbirds with 13.
