Boys basketball roundup: Dhondt scores 26 in Perrysburg s victory

Mike Dhondt hit six 3-pointers on his way to 26 points to lead Perrysburg to a 68-55 victory at Bowsher last night in boys basketball.

Tyler Winkleman added 19 points for the Yellow Jackets (10-4).

Chris Wyse paced Bowsher (3-11) with 14 points.

The Jackets pulled away in the second half after leading just 26-24 at the break.

Each team hit 14 2-pointers, Perrysburg made just one more foul shot (16 to 15), but the Jackets canned eight treys to the Rebels four.

WAITE 55, MAUMEE 52

Mike Lucas scored 24 points and a 15-7 third-quarter advantage was the difference for Waite.

Sean Hamilton and Darrion Griffin added 10 points apiece for the 8-6 Indians.

Andy Dybala led visiting Maumee with 18 points.

CENTRAL 66, DEFIANCE 61

The Irish won in a foul-shooting contest, making 20 of 21 while visiting Defiance hit 23 of 35.

Zack Hartle led the Irish (9-6) with 23 points and Dan Amato added 16. The pair scored 24 second-half points.

L.J. Helton paced Defiance (4-8) with 19 points - 12 from the foul line - and Austin Keel and Graham Wagner added 11 apiece.

LIMA SHAWNEE 97, WOODWARD 47

Jermaine Bratton scored 25 points and Ohio-State bound Jamar Butler added 23 as visiting Lima Shawnee rolled.

Brandon Ingram and Robert Barner scored eight points apiece for Woodward.

SPRINGFIELD 76, NAPOLEON 73

Dee Alexander s shot from just inside midcourt went through the basket as the buzzer sounded to end the third overtime.

Alexander paced Springfield (2-10) with 27 points, including six treys. Fletcher Noble added 20 points, Deshawn Benison added 12 and Scott Browne had 10.

The Devils hit 26 of 42 foul shots to Napoleon s 13 of 18.

Larry Ward paced the Wildcats (4-8) with 26 points and Alex Birtcher added 17.

MAUMEE VALLEY 95, BETTSVILLE 69

BETTSVILLE - Craig Choka paced Maumee Valley s romp with 31 points.

Delence Sheares added 19 and Kyle O Connell and Chris Sackman scored 15 each for the Hawks (7-7).

Adam Lawrence paced the winless Bobcats with 20 points.

ARCHBOLD - The Streaks built a 43-27 halftime lead, then hung on.

D.J. Selgo led Archbold (12-2) with 19 points and Mike Pratt and Dan Borcherdt added 12 each.

Van Wert (11-3) was led by Rian Rainey with 20 points.

PETTISVILLE 63, DELTA 51

DELTA - Pettisville placed four in double figures as Garrett Miller scored 18, Justin Rufenacht 16, Tyson Snider 13 and Braydon Meck 12.

Josh Williams paced Delta with 21 points and Marcus Baun and Ryan Shakelford had 10 apiece.

Pettisville made 16 of 21 foul shots to Delta s 4 of 10.

WAUSEON 55, TINORA 40

WAUSEON - Brock Gibson scored 29 points and Kyle Storrer added 12 for the 12-0 Indians.

Chris Rethmel and Ian Weber each scored eight for Tinora.

FAYETTE - Heath Armstrong scored 18 points, Tyler Rupp added 13 and Nick Lavinder 12 for Fayette, which made 10 of 14 foul shots to Montpelier s 4 of 6.

A.J. Hephner scored 12 for Montpelier.

PAULDING - Noah Stelzer scored 13 points to pace Bryan, which outscored Paulding 17-8 in the second quarter for a 29-19 halftime lead.

FINDLAY - Brad Sutton scored 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds, and Chuck Ernst added 15 for the Trojans. Greg Garrett tallied 15 for Sandusky.
