City: Allen gains 231 yards for Rebels

Arthur Allen rambled for 231 yards and two touchdowns and Bowsher ground out 342 yards in a 38-14 victory last night over Woodward.

Allen scored on runs of 15 and 17 yards as the Rebels (5-1, 3-0) took a 22-0 lead at the half. Eddie Toles added nine carries for 54 yards and touchdowns of 2, 1, and 19 yards.

Robert Barner scored on a two-yard run for the Polar Bears (4-2, 2-1) in the third quarter and Makonnen Rice scored from the 11 in the fourth.

Rice finished with 129 yards on 15 carries, and Barner completed 4 of 8 passes for 63 yards for Woodward, which totaled 215 yards.

The Rebels' first score came on a safety when Bahaa Hariri tackled Rice in the end zone.

Libbey 26, Waite 14

JayRon Kynard ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns to pace Libbey.

Kynard broke scoring run of 8 and 30 yards for the Cowboys (3-3, 1-2), who piled up 338 yards of offense.

Waite (0-6, 0-3) scored first when James Brighton hauled in a 12-yard pass from Howie Lacourse for a touchdown.

After Kynard's first touchdown, the Waite pair connected again for a 26-yard TD.

Libbey posted 18 consecutive points to cruise to the victory, including Glen Miller's three-yard touchdown run.

Clay 34, Rogers 0

Brent Graham completed 9 of 13 passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns for Clay.

Nick Sondergeld carried the ball 11 times for 106 yards and two TDs and Andy Dombroff ran 17 times for 86 yards as Clay (5-1, 2-1) posted 383 yards net total offense, 208 on the ground. Doug Bachmayer and Andy Dombroff pulled in Graham's TD tosses.

Rogers (0-6, 0-3) was competitive statistically as Chris LaRue completed 15 of 30 passes for 213 yards and the Rams logged 301 yards on offense. Rogers was inside Clay's 10-yard line more than once. But the Eagle defense forced four fumbles - three in the first half as Clay took a 27-0 lead - and gained possession of all of them.

Brad Coy and Brad Rucki led with eight tackles each as the Eagles notched their second shutout of the season.

Central Catholic 31,

Start 19

Visiting Central Catholic broke out to a 24-7 lead and held on to defeat Start.

Among the key plays for the Irish (5-1, 2-1) were a 92-yard kickoff return for a score by Nikai Roberts and a two-yard interception return for a TD by Anthony Oliver.

Central's Neil Mitchell rushed for 167 yards on 25 carries, with a one-yard touchdown run.

Start quarterback Mike Berman threw for short touchdowns to Matt Foley and Gerald Archer, completing 17 of 32 passes for 127 yards. Saliyl Cunningham ran for 125 yards on 12 carries for the Spartans (1-5, 0-3).
