SLL: Otsego rebounds, tops Lake

TONTOGANY - Lake broke out on top on scoring runs of 6 and 5 yards by Brad Lewis in the first quarter last night, but it was all Otsego from there as the Knights rebounded from last week's first loss with six unanswered touchdowns in a 42-13 victory.

Trevor Meyers scored on a fumble recovery in the end zone and on a 28-yard interception return that put Otsego (7-1, 4-1) ahead 28-13 at the half. Cody Donald scored on 3 and 41-yard runs.

Donald paced the Knights with 125 of their 298 yards rushing on 21 carries. Matt Mills completed 5 of 8 passes for 76 yards, including a two-yard TD pass to Eric Zuhlsdorf.

Dan Tarver led the Flyers (4-3, 2-2) with 51 yards on 13 carries. Lake gained 152 yards on the ground, 24 through the air.

Genoa 20, Lakota 7

GENOA - Anthony Robertson scored a pair of touchdowns as the Comets earned their first victory.

Robertson gained 98 yards on 24 carries and scored from 3 and 1 yards out. Josh Huddleston led Genoa (1-7, 1-3) with 108 yards on 17 carries.

Blake Skilliter also scored for Genoa on a one-yard run.

Lakota (1-7, 0-5) opened the scoring on a 79-yard run by Ron Diaz, who finished with 127 yards on 12 carries.

Nathan Sattler hit 9 of 21 passes for 98 yards and Lakota added 141 rushing.

Genoa had 280 running and 43 passing.

Elmwood 47, Gibsonburg 0

GIBSONBURG - Al Tyson threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to pace Elmwood (5-3, 4-1).

He hit 5 of 9 passes for 162 yards and added 55 rushing on 13 caries.

The TD tosses went to Chad Reynolds for 47 yards, Eric Wainsitler for 20 and Matt Buckingham for 60. His scoring run was good for 10 yards.

Reynolds also scored on runs of 10 and 5 yards, Benn Heater on a five-yarder and Ben Hammer from five yards out.
