SLL: Tyson leads Royals past Lake

BLOOMDALE Al Tyson threw for 318 yards and ran for 127 more as Elmwood edged Lake 42-41.

Ben Hammer hauled in two touchdowns for the Royals and Dusty Brown added a touchdown, while grabbing nine passes for 82 yards.

Lake s Dan Tarver racked up 200 yards rushing on 17 carries, posting touchdown runs of 58, 3, 25, and 71 yards, while Adam Sheleine caught seven passes for 93 yards and two scores.

Elmwood amassed 470 yards of total offense, while Lake recorded 420 yards.

Brandon Rice threw for 221 yards for Lake and Richie Karzewski blocked an Elmwood punt and took it 20 yards for the score.

Otsego 21, Genoa 0

TONTOGANY Genoa put up a fight before falling to undefeated Otsego, as the Knights put the game away with 14 points in the final quarter.

Cody Donald scored on touchdown runs of one and three yards for Otsego (4-0, 1-0), while Matt Mills tossed a 15-touchdown pass to Chad Henck for the Knights final tally.

Otsego accumulated 176 yards rushing and 97 passing to 92 rushing and 109 passing for Genoa (1-3, 0-1).

Woodmore 50, Gibsonburg 14

ELMORE The Wildcats (1-3, 1-0) won their first game of the season as Chris Weiland scored four touchdowns and Aaron Wright two. Three of Weiland s scores came on runs of more than 60 yards as he racked up 238 yards on 11 carries.

Woodmore had 406 yards total offense, all on the ground.

Alex Black produced the big play of the night for Gibsonburg (0-4, 0-1), a 69-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Eastwood 47, Lakota 7

PEMBERVILLE The Eagles raced to a 47-0 lead after three quarters as Jeremy Foster scored the first three touchdowns on runs of 1, 30, and 9 yards. He piled up 189 yards on 15 carries.

Eric Rutherford chipped in with two TD tosses for the Eagles, 58 yards to Jake Kohring and 13 yards to Trey Hunter.

Mason Lowery s 21-yard touchdown run accounted for Lakota s only score.
