NLL: Northview prevails on a tipped-pass TD

Matt Wade caught a tipped pass on the last play of the game to give visiting Northview a 20-19 victory over Anthony Wayne last night.

Schneider's pass at the 3-yard line, but the ball ended up in Wade's hands for a 35-yard touchdown connection as the Wildcats improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Northern Lakes League.

Schneider and Wade also hooked up on a 22-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Northview's other touchdown came when Codi Morris returned the game's opening kickoff 95 yards.

Schneider completed 8 of 23 passes for 144 yards, with three interceptions. The Generals (2-4, 0-3) held NLL rushing leader Casey Meridieth to 32 yards on 13 carries.

Anthony Wayne's Tyler Rahn carried 30 times for 143 yards, including a one-yard touchdown run. The Generals also got a score on an 85-yard kickoff return by Justin Gerhardinger.

Jon Holmberg carried six times for 43 yards, and Alex Keyer was 5-for-11 for 31 yards for the Generals, who didn't commit any turnovers.

BOWLING GREEN - Thomas Rodriguez and Zach Akenberger paced the Bobcats (2-4, 1-2).

Rodriguez scored on a 48-yard run and a 57-yard pass from Brandon Radabaugh.

Akenberger scored on a 75-yard pass from Radabaugh and a 60-yard run.

Rick Isby scored for the Blue Devils (1-5, 0-3) on a four-yard run.
