SLL: Otsego rolls to title share

GIBSONBURG Otsego rolled over Gibsonburg 61-6 last night, earning a share of the Suburban Lakes League championship with Eastwood and Elmwood.

It was the eighth title in 26 seasons for Dan Cocke, who is in his final season as Otsego coach.

Cody Donald picked up 213 yards on 12 carries for the Knights, scoring touchdowns of 63, 4, 33, and 20 yards.

Justin Henck, Trevor Myers, Chad Henck, J.T. Schmitt and Justin Dennis also tallied for Otsego (9-1, 6-1).

Gibsonburg (0-10, 0-7) scored on a 31-yard pass from Nathan Kirwen to Robby Vela.

Lake 27, Genoa 14

MILLBURY Dan Tarver set the single-season rushing record for Lake in a win over Genoa with 1,482 yards in just eight games played.

Tarver ran for 205 yards on 24 carries.

Nathan Keil began the scoring with a 78-yard kickoff return for Lake (5-4, 3-3)

The Flyers Bryan Pfouts then recovered a blocked punt in the end zone, giving Lake a 13-0 lead.

Richie Karszewski and Tarver added touchdown runs of 74 yards and 55, respectively.

Anthony Robertson and Blake Skilliter posted touchdown runs for Genoa (3-7, 2-5).

Woodmore 28, Lakota 21

KANSAS Woodmore quarterback Curtis Schlea threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Carl Smith with 6:31 to play in the game to give the Wildcats a win over the Raiders.

Lakota (3-7, 1-6) had tied the game three minutes earlier on a one-yard run by quarterback Nathan Sattler and a two-point conversion pass from Sattler to Justin Apple.

Sattler also tossed a 20-yard TD pass to Mason Lowery and Apple opened the scoring with a 13-yard run.

Woodmore (3-7, 3-3) also scored on a four-yard run by Chris

Weiland, a 35-yard interception return by Schlea and on a 53-yard run by Ryan Buckner.
