Girls basketball roundup: Miller paces Northview win

Riana Miller had 27 points yesterday to lead Northview over visiting Central Catholic 61-54 in a rematch of last season's Division I district championship game.

Central Catholic trailed 45-27 after three quarters but outscored Northview 27-16 in the fourth quarter.

Lisa Johnson added 12 points and Sarah Stephens 11 for the Wildcats, who improved to 4-1.

Mallory Strall had 23 points and Ellen Herman 12 for Central Catholic (2-2).

Each team lost a Division I college player after last season - Central's Jessica Minnfield (Michigan) and Northview's Niki McCoy (Akron).

SOUTHVIEW 53, BOWSHER 38

Morgan Gatwood scored 14 points, Liz Tansey added 12 and visiting Southview made 13 of 21 free throws to Bowsher's 5 of 17.

Tiara Roberts led the Rebels with 11 points.

CINCINNATI ST. URSULA 45, ST. URSULA 34

Visiting Cincinnati St. Ursula outscored the Arrows 29-12 in the second half when it forced 22 turnovers.

Maggie Hennegan scored 18 for the visitors (2-1) and the Arrows (1-3) got 13 from Joan Anderson.

OTTAWA HILLS 36, DELTA 29

Kelsey Netter scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Ottawa Hills (2-1) over Delta (1-4). Megan Jamieson grabbed 10 rebounds.

STRITCH 39, CALVERT 28

Brittney Bradner led Stritch with 11 points, and the Cardinals turned up the defensive pressure to outscore visiting Calvert 10-2 in the second quarter for a 22-11 halftime lead.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 62, MAUMEE 50

Emily Cellier led the visiting Eagles (2-2) with 22 points, including 16 of 18 from the free throw line. Jackie Emmenecker added 21.

Lindsay Diegel paced Maumee (2-3) with 12 points and Ann DeAngelo added 10.

Toledo Christian went 26 of 36 from the foul line. Maumee was 7 of 14.

WAUSEON 54, AYERSVILLE 50

WAUSEON - Kate Hill scored 22 points, including 11-of-14 shooting from the free throw line, to pace Wauseon, which made 22 of 33 from the line.

Christa Rupple paced Ayersville (2-2) with 20.

FINDLAY 52, MARION HARDING 46

FINDLAY - Carlee Roethlisberger scored 19 points and Jonette McQueen added 13 for 4-1 Findlay.

PORT CLINTON 69, CLYDE 68

PORT CLINTON - Kelly Logsdon scored 26 points for Port Clinton. Stephanie Meyer scored 27 and Katie Stein 12 for Clyde.

MILLER CITY 48, PANDORA-GILBOA 36

PANDORA - Melanie Schroeder scored 13 for Miller City (6-0) and Stacey Niese added 11.

NEW RIEGEL 47, ARCADIA 44

ARCADIA - Jamie Depinet and Rachelle Lucius scored 12 apiece for New Riegel and Lindsay Fleegle led Arcadia with 14.

EDGERTON 61, MONTPELIER 51

MONTPELIER - Tori Flower and Kendra Feltz scored 17 points apiece and Brooke Short added 16 for Edgerton.

Khrysta Long led Montpelier with 18 points and Karli Thomas added 13.
