Girls basketball: Rhodes leads Woodmore to win over Genoa

ELMORE - Casza Rhodes scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Woodmore to a 70-61 girls Suburban Lakes League basketball victory over Genoa last night.

Danielle Lowry added 14 points, Sarah Hernandez 13 and Stephanie Costantini 11 for the Wildcats (11-6, 8-3).

Brittany Darling led Genoa with 19 points and Simone Eli added 16.

GIBSONBURG 59, LAKE 51

GIBSONBURG - Ann Clarke scored 19 points, pulled down nine rebounds and hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final 40 seconds to lead Gibsonburg (8-9, 7-7 SLL). Lindsay Hill added 12 points for the Golden Bears.

Sarah Recny led Lake with 21 points and seven rebounds, and Joylette Daniels scored 14 points.

EASTWOOD 62, LAKOTA 52

KANSAS - Kim Young scored 16 points, Amanda Haws added 12 and Danielle Thornton had 11 for Eastwood, which outscored Lakota 21-8 in the fourth quarter.

Katie Dennis led Lakota with 19 points.

Eastwood forced 30 turnovers and committed just 13.

ELMWOOD 59, OTSEGO 37

TONTOGANY - Brooke Morgart poured in 33 points and had eight rebounds and seven steals for Elmwood, which outrebounded Otsego 30-15.

Emily Schwab paced Otsego with 16 points.

FOSTORIA - Dani Papenfus scored 22 points and Francena Tate added 15 for St. Wendelin.

Toledo Christian had four in double figures - Emily Cellier with 15, Joanna Beauch with 13, Tami Duvall with 12 and Shannon Longenecker with 11.

LEIPSIC - Haley Badenhop scored 12 points, Karissa Inselmann added 10 and the Patriots remained unbeaten. Maegan Selhorst led Leipsic with 12.

WEST UNITY - Brittany Shurkey led the Golden Bears with 16 points, Beth Yarhaus added 14 and Andrea Wehman had 13.

FREMONT - Stephanie Meyer scored 10 points, including her 1,000th for Clyde. Brittney Miller led Fremont Ross with 16.
