St. Ursula edges Bowsher

St. Ursula and Northview won girls Division I sectional basketball games last night at Central.

St. Ursula edged Bowsher 55-54 when Emily Florian connected on a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining.

Alison Florian (11-9) led St. Ursula with 19 points.

Stephany Johnson led Bowsher (11-9) with 17 points.

Northview (18-3) rolled over Woodward 90-25, led by Lisa Johnson's 19 points.

Aysia Mickles scored 13 points for the Polar Bears.

NOTE: Alexis Simpson scored 11 points and hit 5 of 6 free throws in Springfield's 42-39 win over Clay on Tuesday.

OTTAWA HILLS 46,

LIBERTY CENTER 42

Megan Jamieson scored 13 points and Kelsey Netter added 10 to lead Ottawa Hills (15-6) at Southview.

Kristen McEwen led Liberty Center (8-13) with 16 points and Kaitlin Rohrs had 10.

The Green Bears (15-6) outscored the Tigers 27-16 in the second half.

Ottawa Hills hit 8 of 12 free throws to Liberty Center's 7-of-15 and made five 3-pointers to the Tigers' four.

CLAY 79, WAITE 76

Wes Taylor scored 28 points and Zac Taylor had 22 as the Eagles won in overtime. Mark Wortham led the Indians with 25.

BOWSHER 48, WHITMER 40

Adam Crisp led the Rebels with 17 points and Ryne Smith scored 15 for Whitmer.
