District baseball: Miller tosses 1-hitter to lead Ottawa Hills

DESHLER - Sam Miller tossed a one-hitter and Johnny Crooks belted a two-run homer as Ottawa Hills won a Division IV district baseball title yesterday with a 5-1 victory over Mohawk at Patrick Henry.

Crooks went 2-for-2 for the Green Bears (20-6), accounting for half of their hits. Mohawk bows out at 16-9.

WOODMORE 2, NEW LONDON 0

PLYMOUTH - Charles Wooten tossed a three-hit shutout as Woodmore won the Division IV district title.

Jordan Shaw was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Wildcats.

FAIRVIEW 9, LAKE 4

BOWLING GREEN - Lake scored three runs in the top of the first inning at Carter Park, but Fairview battled back for a Division III district title.

Toby Hill belted a pair a home runs and drove in three runs and Toben Stark picked up the victory for the Apaches.

Cody McPherson took the loss for Lake.
