NLL: Generals trail 22-0 but beat Northview

Anthony Wayne spotted Northview a 22-0 lead after committing two turnovers, but the Generals scored 34 unanswered points after three Wildcats turnovers in the second half to take a 34-22 Northern Lakes League win last night.

Shaun Park scored two TDs on short runs and Nate Sherman added a TD to get the visiting Generals (4-2, 2-1) rolling.

Then Aaron Keyer caught a 33-yard TD pass from brother Alex, who also hit Tyler Schultz with a scoring strike to wrap up AW's scoring.

Casey Meridieth scored twice (147 yards rushing) and Matt Wade caught a scoring strike from Ryan Yockey, who had 111 yards passing for the Wildcats (2-4, 1-2). Park rushed for 49.

Alex Keyer had 202 yards passing for AW and its runners added 156 on the ground.

Bowling Green 31, Springfield 29

Adam Crawford and Zach Akenberger each scored a pair of touchdowns for the Bobcats, who led 24-16 at the half.

Crawford scored on a 78-yard kickoff return and caught a 28-yard pass from Mike Mercer. Akenberger - who led Bowling Green (2-4, 2-1) with 60 yards on 14 carries - scored on 25 and five-yard runs, the latter cementing the victory. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

Eric Page scored on a pair of one-yard runs for the Blue Devils (0-6, 0-3), who scored 13 points in the third quarter to pull within two. Page, who led all rushers with 128 yards on 23 carries and connected on 10 of 23 passes for 189, also connected with Montral Hayes on a 26-yard touchdown pass and Matt Rogers on a 14-yard TD pass. Hayes caught five passes for 116 yards.

Southview 61, Rossford 16

Kwesi Kankam rushed for three touchdowns and Alex Pidcock ran for another and threw three touchdown passes as the Cougars romped.

Kankam scored on runs of 1 and 23 yards and caught a six-yard TD pass from Griff Whalen. Pidcock scored from the 1 and hit Shaun Joplin for a 19-yard touchdown, Travis Hearing for a three-yard TD and Jimmy Snider for a 26-yard TD for Southview (5-1, 2-1), which compiled 328 yards, 190 through the air.

The Cougars led 35-0 before Tyler Waclawski caught an 84-yard TD pass from Jim Pitzin. Pitzin also scored on a one-yard run for Rossford (1-5, 0-3), which lost quarterback Kyle Schwind to a concussion.
