City: Henry, Wyse help Scott move to 6-0

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Scott defeated Lansing 71-53 in a battle of unbeatens yesterday to advance to today's final of a holiday basketball tournament here.

The Bulldogs (6-0) were led by Adrian Henry with 17 points and Chris Wyse with 16. The duo also teamed for 26 boards - 16 by Henry.

Irmon Young and Hakiem Greer added 13 points apiece for Scott.

The Crusaders fell to 4-1.

Brush 63, St. Francis 58

EUCLID, Ohio - St. Francis played Brush even for three quarters but struggled in the final frame and missed out on giving Brush its first loss of the season at a tournament here.

Nick Meinert led the Knights (2-3) with 19 points and Jordan Frost added 10.

Brush (6-0) won the rebound battle 33-24.

St. Francis will play in the consolation round tonight at 6.

Anthony Wayne 64, Bowsher 44

Kyle Jazwiecki scored 14 points, Todd Mikes added 10 and Cam Walton scored seven of his nine when visiting Anthony Wayne took a 38-15 halftime lead.

Matt Kaighin paced Bowsher (2-4) with 16 points and Josh Broomfield added 14.

The Generals (5-2) hit 15 of 21 free throws and converted seven 3-points attempts. The Rebels went 16-of-29 from the line but made only two 3-pointers.

Southview 68,

Rogers 49

Tim Hausfeld scored 23 points, including seven in the first quarter when visiting Southview jumped to a 23-18 lead.

The Cougars (5-4) had built the margin to 41-21 by halftime.

Devin Simon backed Hausfeld with 11 points.

Dalante Heard led Rogers (2-5) with 14 points and Lee Tabb had 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Clay 54, Rossford 42

A.J. Achter scored 18 points by hitting 6 of 12 field goal tries and 6 of 7 free throws to pace visiting Clay.

Logan Nichols paced Rossford with 10 points.

Clay outscored Rossford 13-4 in the third quarter to take control.

Rossford outrebounded Clay 34-26 but couldn't match the Eagles' shooting.

Graves County 35,

St. John's 30

FORT WALTON, Fla. - St. John's Jesuit scored just one point in the fourth quarter, though its offense wasn't much better in the first three.

Sean Patterson led the Titans (5-3) with nine points.

Graves County (Ky.) is 9-4.
