Boys basketball: Archbold 11-1 after beating Napoleon

ARCHBOLD - Trey Smith led four Blue Streaks in double figures with 15 points as Archbold defeated Napoleon 58-39 last night in boys basketball.

Archbold also got 13 from Josh Wyse and 10 apiece from Gene Goering and Andy Brink.

Joel Hunter led Napoleon with 13 points.

Archbold (11-1) broke open a close game by going on a 20-0 run and outscored Napoleon 21-2 in the fourth quarter.

The Streaks hit seven 3-pointers to Napoleon's two, and forced 18 turnovers while committing only eight.

FREMONT ROSS 47,

BOWSHER 39

The Little Giants made 15 of 22 foul shots while the Rebels converted just 7 of 9 .

Ryan Croudup's 17 points led visiting Fremont Ross (2-8).

Justin Warnes scored 13 for Bowsher (2-8).

EASTWOOD 65,

OAK HARBOR 50

PEMBERVILLE - Chad Fairbanks scored 16 points and Clay Rolf chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Eagles pulled away late in a foul-plagued game.

Tom Laderach scored a game-high 19 points for the Rockets. Ricky Brimmer and Nic Kleman added nine points apiece.

The teams combined for 59 free throws, with Eastwood cashing in on 18 of 28, while Oak Harbor converted 19 of 31.

LAKOTA 45, OLD FORT 44

OLD FORT - Nate Dussel and Kyle Gosche scored 14 points each for Lakota and Jake Molyet and Cody Perry had 13 apiece for Old Fort.

CORY-RAWSON 64, USV 39

RAWSON - Wells Faine led Cory-Rawson over Upper Scioto Valley with 24 points.

WHITEFORD 70,

DEERFIELD 54

DEERFIELD, Mich. - Josh DuPree scored 16 points, Dave Gust added 13 and Mitch Frazier had 12 as Whiteford evened its record at 5-5.

Andrew Kienath led Deerfield with 14 points and Adam Diver had 11.

It's been quite a week for Sandusky Perkins senior Kyle Hallock. He scored his 1,000th point a week ago, broke the school record of 1,048 points with 17 points on Friday against Port Clinton and then broke his father's scoring mark of 1,059 points when he scored 21 points on Saturday against Shelby. He now has 1,072 points.

RECORDS: Lisbon senior Erica Sims scored a school-record 45 points and hit seven 3-pointers, another school record, in an 85-56 win over East Palestine on Thursday. ... Despite missing most of the first quarter, Sandusky senior Kelsey Williams scored 47 points to break the old single-game mark of 45 set by John Farris in 1969.

MILESTONES: Coshocton's 46-45 win over visiting Cambridge on Friday marked the 1,000th victory since Coshocton basketball began in the 1904-1905 season. ... Coach Doug Krauss earned the 350th win of his career when the Archbold boys beat Stryker 67-39 on Jan. 10.
