Swanton notches 400th win

SWANTON - Swanton defeated Evergreen 52-31 last night in NWOAL girls basketball, upping its record to 15-1 this season and notching the school's 400th girls victory overall.

Abby LaVigne led the Bulldogs (6-1 NWOAL) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Paige Onweller added 14 points, including four 3-pointers.

Taylor Langenderfer paced Evergreen (8-7, 1-6) with 12 points.

Swanton outscored Evergreen 15-3 from the free throw line and hit five 3-pointers to Evergreen's two.

Jordyn Sadowski went 9-for-9 from the field on the way to 25 points to lead Anthony Wayne over visiting St. Ursula.

Allison Papenfuss added 18 points and eight rebounds for the 14-1 Generals.

Alex Smith scored 11 and Taylor Leach had 10 for St. Ursula.

EASTWOOD 52,

WOODMORE 44

ELMORE - Lisa Griffith scored 16 points and Megan McCracken had 13 for Eastwood.

Brittany Perkins led Woodmore with 15 points and Sarah Hernandez added 12.

Eastwood hit 19 of 28 free throws to Woodmore's 11 of 20.

GIBSONBURG 51,

OTSEGO 38

TONTOGANY - Zoe Huff led a balanced Gibsonburg (5-10, 5-6 SLL) attack with 11 points.

Alysha Gruelich led Otsego (7-10, 5-6) with 15.

The Golden Bears led 26-10 at halftime then hung on.

LAKOTA 56, LAKE 41

KANSAS - Sarah Lawrence scored 19 points, Cara Lentz added 16 and Alison Park 14 for Lakota. Lawrence hit five of the Raiders' eight 3-pointers.

Jennifer LaPlante led Lake with 11 points.

OTTAWA HILLS 54,

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 46

Kelsey Netter scored 16 points, Katherine Jamieson added 15 and visiting Ottawa Hills (13-0, 9-0 TAAC) hit 20 of 34 free throws to Toledo Christian's 12 of 16.

Tami Duvall and Abby Ashbaucher each scored 12 for Toledo Christian (8-9, 5-4).

STRITCH 56, DANBURY 48

Katie Bochi scored eight of her 14 points in the first quarter when Cardinal Stritch jumped to a 20-10 lead.

Brittner Barber and Amanda Miller added 10 points apiece for the Cardinals (11-5, 6-4 TAAC).

Stefi Kosa and Christine Longer scored 14 each for Danbury (11-6, 6-3) and Megan Twarek had 11.

MAUMEE VALLEY 62,

Alexis Holman scored 27 points and Hannah Spangler and Nollie Brown added 10 apiece for Maumee Valley (8-8, 3-6 TAAC).

Emily Loomis led Emmanuel Christian (4-14, 0-10) with 10 points.

MONTPELIER - Samantha Seemann scored 15 points, Tiffany Ehlers added 13 and Michelle Nickels 12 for the Patriots (6-11, 4-3 NWOAL).

Karli Thomas scored 17 for Montpelier (4-13, 1-6), Tabby Davis added 15 and Khrysta Long 10.

Patrick Henry outscored Montpelier 21-10 in the third quarter.

BRYAN 63, DELTA 38

DELTA - Brittany Shirkey hit eight 3-pointers on the way to 26 points, and Bryan outscored Delta 24-10 in the third period.

Haley Baun led Delta with 14.

Bryan hit 12 3-pointers to none for Delta.

FINDLAY - Ashley Petersen scored 12 points and Emily Lause added 11 for 14-2 Findlay.

Britta Baron led Fremont Ross with 11.

FAYETTE - Stephanie McCord scored 35 points, leading Fayette to a victory and becoming the school's top scorer in girls basketball with 1,337 points.

Danni Wyse added 16 for Fayette.
