Monroe St. Mary wins state volleyball crown

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kristen Arthurs had 30 kills and two aces to help Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central defeat North Muskegon yesterday and win the Michigan Class C state volleyball championship.

Beth Terrasi added 12 kills and one ace for St. Mary (54-3) as the Falcons won 25-21, 14-25, 25-10, 22-25, 15-8. Laura Scherer contributed 14 digs.

For North Muskegon (37-9-1), Allyson Karaba had 21 kills, six aces and 13 digs. Gina Kiefer had 10 kills, one ace and 11 digs.
