Rogers' 3 TDs pace Irish win

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Brad Rogers gained 123 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead Central Catholic to a 27-7 victory over Canton, Mich., at Eastern Michigan University last night.

Rogers scored on runs of 1, 6 and 1 yards.

The first Irish score came on a 54-yard pass from Tyler Kleeberger to Donte Johnson.

Kleeberger hit 6 of 8 passes for 137 yards with Johnson catching a pair for 95 yards.

Central ran 31 times for 140 yards.

Canton gained 194 yards rushing but had none passing.

Scott defeated the visitors from Cleveland in a turnover-filled game with the deciding fourth-quarter points coming on turnovers - defensive tackle Devon Crumbie stripped the ball and returned the fumble 18 yards for a score and Charrod Johnson returned an interception 26 yards for the clincher.

The Bulldogs also scored on a three-yard run by Michael Johnson and an eight-yard run by Jeremiah Davis - both in the first quarter.

Southview 21,

Bowsher 0

Alex Pidcock ran for a touchdown and threw for another as Southview pitched a shutout at home.

Pidcock was 5 of 8 for 132 yards and a touchdown to Robbie Gajewicz. Pidcock added a 14-yard TD run in the second quarter.

Bowsher's Durrell Pettaway carried 16 times for 94 yards.

Start 22,

Admiral King 12

The Start passing attack proved too much for Lorain Admiral King. Quarterback Brad Leestma was 17-of-24 for 293 yards and two touchdowns passing. London Norton had six receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Derrick Rogers added 111 yards receiving on five catches.

Kyle Whitmore made a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to clinch the game.

Whitmer 35, Columbian 13

TIFFIN - Whitmer led by three touchdowns at halftime and never looked back.

Donnie Dottei led the Panthers with four touchdowns - two rushing and two passing. Dottei finished with 97 yards rushing on 17 carries, and hit 9 of 17 passes for 134 yards. Both touchdown passes were caught by tight end Kevin Koger, his only receptions in the game.

Anthony Allen added 117 yards rushing on 11 carries and scored the final Whitmer touchdown.

Whitmer intercepted three Columbian passes.

Toledo Christian 26,

Libbey 12

Grant Sims tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran 10 yards for a third touchdown to pace Toledo Christian.

Sims connected with Carson Oostra for 20 yards and with Nate Konzen for 67.

Toledo Christian also got a six-yard TD run from Derek Arnold.

Libbey's scores came on a 62-yard run by Eugene Byard and a 53-yard pass from Garron Griggs to Allen Mercer.

Northview 26, Clay 3

Northview scored in every quarter and gained more than three times as many yards as visiting Clay.

Casey Meridieth ran 21 times for 152 yards and three touchdowns. Meridieth scored on two four-yard runs and a 54-yard run.

Mike Biniecki kicked a 27-yard field goal for Northview and Josh Boos kicked a 25-yard field goal for Clay's only score.
