Bung helps Whiteford defeat Morenci 30-21

OTTAWA LAKE - Aaron Flanner rushed for 95 yards, but Joel Bung scored two touchdowns, one on a 46-yard pass interception, as Whiteford opened with a 30-21 Tri-County Conference win over Morenci last night.

The Bulldogs scored the first three TDs - 66 yards by Chase Frey, a 16-yard fumble return by Allen Kebly and a 37-yard pass to Jacob Bovee from Frey.

Morenci scored the next four - Dave Gust's one-yard run, a short pass to Josh DuPree from Gust, and then Bung's two TDs, the last the interception which sealed the outcome.

Whiteford fumbled seven times, lost three, or the Bobcats might have scored more.

IDA - Travis Dusseau had an impressive outing with 36 carries for 229 yards and a touchdown to lead the Eagles.

But it was Stephen Jozefowicz who scored the game-winner, a 76-yard interception return as Erie Mason improved to 2-0. Quarterback Travis Davis completed 6 of 9 passes for 73 yards.

Lyle Pavuk scored from eight yards out in the first quarter for the Bluestreaks (1-1).

DUNDEE - Blissfield running back Luke Shrader led the way with 115 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.

Shrader also caught one of John Estes' two touchdown passes in the first quarter.

The Royals (3-0) outgained Dundee (1-2) 226-72 in total yards.

CLINTON - Summerfield quarterback Tyler Glass scored two touchdowns - one running, the other passing - in a losing effort to Clinton. Glass was 5-for-17 passing for 106 yards; he carried the ball 13 times for 118 yards. Spencer Krauss scored twice for Clinton.
