Dottei helps Whitmer win 50-47 shootout at Fostoria

FOSTORIA Whitmer held off a late comeback attempt with Donnie Dottei s game-sealing five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter as the Panthers (2-1) prevailed in a 50-47 shootout.

Dottei finished with three rushing touchdowns, including a 30-yard run before halftime to tie the score at 29. He was also 13-of-23 for 171 yards passing to go with his 127 rushing yards.

Anthony Allen was Whitmer s leading rusher with 128 yards and two touchdowns, while Julian Nash added 87 yards rushing with one touchdown. The Panthers totaled 349 yards on the ground.

Micah Hyde had two of his three TD passes late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn t enough for the Redmen (2-1). Hyde finished 19-of-37 for 216 yards and also had a 59-yard TD scamper in the second quarter.

The two teams combined for 954 total yards in a game that saw 14 touchdowns scored, the lead change hands three times and the game tied three times.
