Tammerine sparks Clay
9/8/2007Clay picked up its first win of the season last night at home on the legs of Nick Tammerine.
The senior running back had 202 yards on 20 carries with three rushing touchdowns in the Eagles' 49-21 win over Springfield (1-2).
Tammerine even picked up a touchdown through the air on a 33-yard pass to Jordan Kovacs to start the third quarter. Kovacs finished with 168 yards receiving and two touchdowns on six catches.
The Eagles (1-2) piled up 484 total yards of offense in the game.
Springfield quarterback Eric Page had 72 yards on 21 carries with one touchdown run.
The Yellow Jackets stayed undefeated in a rain-shortened game at Waite.
The game was called with 5:03 left in the third quarter due to lightning.
Perrysburg running back Taylor Dimmerling finished with 113 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. Brandon Butler added 101 yards on four carries with one touchdown.
Ray Parker had 125 yards rushing on 12 carries with one touchdown for Waite (0-3).
BAY VILLAGE, Ohio - Libbey picked up its first win of the season as Garron Griggs figured in both scores for the Cowboys.
He scored in the first quarter on a 16-yard quarterback sneak on fourth down and threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Steve Darrington in the second quarter.
Julius Mosely led Libbey with 75 rushing yards on 20 carries.
SANDUSKY - Quarterback Jeremiah Davis racked up more than 300 combined yards of offense but it wasn't enough for the Bulldogs (1-2).
Davis finished 6-of-16 for 153 yards with three touchdown passes and compiled more than half of Scott's 203 yards rushing.
Sandusky piled up 341 yards of total offense, mainly through a balanced rushing attack that totaled 245 yards.
KANSAS - Jon Timmons threw two touchdown passes to help push Lakota past Woodward (0-3).
He threw a 46-yard pass to Roger Guerra in the first quarter and a 33-yarder to Jacob Smith in the third.
The Raiders (2-1) also scored on a 15-yard run by Justin Apple and and a one-yard run by Josh Dennis. Apple led Lakota with 80 yards rushing on 19 attempts.
Down 12-0 at halftime, Northview fought back in the second half to win on Mike Biniecki's 24-yard field goal with 4:53 left.
The game featured two weather delays exceeding two hours, not to mention seven turnovers combined between the two teams.
Rogers utilized four Northview turnovers in the first half as Isaiah Ballard had touchdown runs of 88 and 1 yards.
Northview running back Casey Meridieth finished with 161 yards on 35 carries and one touchdown.
