Bedford's Trychel let go

11/16/2007

Bedford High School is looking for a new football coach after Craig Trychel was let go following seven seasons.

The Mules finished with a 3-6 record this past season and were 20-43 since Trychel took over.

"The Bedford athletic department and the superintendent of schools felt the football program needs to go in a different direction," Bedford athletic director Bill Regnier said.

"We are looking to hire a new coach who will help us build a winning program here."

Bedford's assistant football coaches also were asked to resign.

Regnier said this will allow the new coach to hire his own assistants, and noted that some of the former assistants eventually may be retained.

Trychel will remain as baseball coach of the Mules.

STROCK RESIGNS: In Leipsic, Tory Strock resigned as football coach after seven years in charge of the Vikings.

Leipsic was 2-8 this past season and 28-42 under Strock.
