Girls basketball: Coulter, Simpson pace Springfield

GENOA - Morgan Coulter scored 21 points and Alexis Simpson added 14 to lead visiting Springfield to a 61-51 girls basketball victory over Genoa last night.

Simone Eli paced Genoa with 24 points, including all five of the Comets' 3-pointers.

The visiting Indians (5-3, 3-0 City) jumped to a 17-3 lead after one quarter and led 32-14 at the half.

Courtney Jackson led Waite with 15 points and Stephanie Keaton, Natasha Howard and Alyssa McNeal scored 10 points apiece.

Megan Agoston paced Clay (4-4, 3-2) with 19 points.

ROGERS 22

Southview's defense held visiting Rogers to 11 points in each half.

Genna Vermilya led the Cougars (5-4) with nine points. Laquarrie Parnell had five for the Rams (1-6).

BRYAN - Nicole White tallied 16 points and Amanda Robinson added 11 points for the Golden Bears.

Caitlyn Theaker paced Maumee with 12 points.

GIBSONBURG - Emily Clark scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for the Golden Bears.

Gibsonburg (3-4) finished with a 31-16 advantage on the boards.

Swanton (3-6) was led by Paige Onweller's 13 points and Danielle Bezeau had 11.

MILLBURY - Lauren Abendroth and Katherine Jamieson scored 12 points apiece and Libby Overley added 10 for Ottawa Hills (4-3), which built a 26-17 halftime lead then hung on.

Kaysie Brittenham paced Lake (4-4) with 20 points and Lauren Lind added 10.

DELTA - Haley Baum scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and was joined in the scoring column by 11 teammates as Delta romped.

Emily Loomis led Emmanuel Christian with eight points.

WEST UNITY - Taylor Langenderfer scored 19 points and Tasha Patek had 17 for Evergreen. Kortney Mocherman led Hilltop with 11.

DEFIANCE - Elisha Roberts hit three 3-pointers, three 2-pointers and three free throws to lead all scorers with 18 points for the Rams. Sarah Stransbough added 10 points for Tinora (7-1).

Abby Graber led the Blue Streaks (6-4) with 12 points.

NAPOLEON - Jacquelyn Sindlar led all scorers with 22 points for the 8-1 Wildcats who went on a 5-0 run at the end of the first half to put it away. Fairview (1-5) was led by Katelyn Samples' 10 points.
