City League: St. John's rolls to win at Bowsher

St. John's Jesuit came out on fire from the start and rolled to an easy 79-34 City League victory over Bowsher last night.

The Titans sprinted to a 27-4 lead after the first quarter and extended the lead to 48-11 by the half, playing stifling defense and spreading around the scoring.

St. John's (11-5, 9-1) was led by Tim Simmons, who scored 20 points. Teammates Michael Taylor added 19, and Cheatham Norrils chipped in with 10.

For Bowsher (3-12, 0-9), Nate Pompili finished with 12 points and T.J. Anderson joined him in double figures with 10.

Central Catholic 52,

Woodward 39

Cory Lehman celebrated Senior Night for the Irish (10-7, 6-4) by exploding for 23 points, including five 3-pointers, against visiting Woodward.

Robert Oliver scored 12 points and Brandon Underwood 10 for the Polar Bears (2-14, 0-10).

Woodward kept it relatively close by making 20 of 33 foul shots while Central Catholic was 10 of 15.

Start 92, Rogers 85

Five players scored in double figures for Start in a victory at Rogers.

The Rams rallied to force overtime at 70 points apiece but were unable to pull out the victory.

Cameron Hill led Start (9-8, 4-6) with 24 points.

Dwain Golladay added 21 and Ottarius Waller 19.

Mike Williamson and Devin Russell each added 12 for the Spartans.

Dalante Heard led the Rams (4-12, 2-8) with 22.

Damon Powell added 19 and Jeren Morris 12.
