Anthony Wayne junior Allison Papenfuss has made a verbal commitment to continue her basketball career at Bowling Green State University.
The 6-foot Papenfuss, who led the Northern Lakes League this season in scoring (21.3) and rebounding (14.5) determined that playing at BGSU would be the perfect fit for her.
I ve been down to a lot of the BG games and have talked to the coaches a lot of times and it felt like a place I could go to for four years and be happy with it, said Papenfuss. It s close to home but yet enough away and I know most of the time will be spent with the team.
An NCAA rule prohibits BGSU coach Curt Miller fromcommenting on recruits.
Papenfuss, an All-Blade selection as a sophomore, had also made visits to Toledo, Ohio and Valparaiso campuses.
Papenfuss led the Generals to a 20-0 regular season last year and an NLL title. AW (18-2, 13-1) shared the league title this year with Perrysburg.
I just think all of her hard work has paid off for her, AW coach Justin Zemanski said. She s helped Anthony Wayne accomplish all of our goals the last two years. We re extremely proud for her.
