Basketball roundup: Wauseon girls win in district

Wauseon defeated Oak Harbor 69-60 last night in a Division II girls district semifinal basketball game at Anthony Wayne.

The Indians (15-5) were led by Alexis Baird and Krista Roe with 15 points each. Taylor Creager tallied 13 points and Sabrina Kessler had 11.

Jillian McFarlan paced the Rockets (16-6) with 15 points, all of them coming from 3-point range.

Wauseon shot 28-for-38 from the foul line, while Oak Harbor hit on 8 of 15.

PERKINS 54, BRYAN 38

In the second game at AW, Sandusky Perkins jumped to a 21-8 lead after one quarter and coasted to victory.

Trisha Krewson led Perkins (21-1) with 22 points and Cierra Bravard had 20.

Nicole White led Bryan (14-8) with 12 points.

GENOA 62, COLONEL CRAWFORD 53

OLD FORT Brittany Darling led Genoa with 25 points and Simone Eli had 19.

WAYNE TRACE 67, ARCHBOLD 51

NAPOLEON Sara Priest led Wayne Trace (17-4) with 20 points. Andrea Allen scored 12 and Stacy Wyse 10 for Archbold (15-8).

KALIDA 42, STRYKER 36

ARCHBOLD Ashley Heitmeyer paced Kalida (15-8) with 22 points. She hit 9 of 15 free throws and the team hit 17 of 27.

Molly Boetz led Stryker with nine. Stryker (22-1) was 5 of 13 from the line.

ARCHBOLD Brooke Tegenkamp led Continental with 13 points and Jodi Spotts had 21 and Erica King 15 for Pettisville.

BOWLING GREEN Samantha Kaple scored 11 points and Blair Wells added 10 for McComb at BG High. Jill Walters scored 10 for Fremont St. Joe.

NEW RIEGEL 54, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 45

BOWLING GREEN Jackie Reinhart scored 25 points and New Riegel outscored Toledo Christian 26-11 at the free throw line.

Bethany Critchley had 12 points and Tami Duvall and Kara Segler 11 each for Toledo Christian.

FINDLAY Jordan Geroski led Fostoria St. Wendelin (23-0) to a win at Liberty-Benton with 15 points. Stephanie Recker had nine for Pandora-Gilboa (16-6).

FINDLAY Leipsic (16-7) got 14 points apiece from Jessica Schroeder and Shannon Nadler at Liberty-Benton.

Morgan Dumbaugh led Ada (14-9) with 14.

LEXINGTON Christine Longer scored 14 points but Danbury bowed out at 15-6.

TEMPERANCE Mark Stroud scored 15 as Bedford finished the regular season 2-18. Kyle Larson scored 23 for Saline.

OTTAWA LAKE Josh DuPree scored 23 points and Dave Gust added 18 for 17-3 Whiteford.
