Perrysburg team, Napoleon's Homan tops

VAN BUREN - Napoleon's Kendall Homan won the individual all-around crown and Perrysburg won the team title yesterday at the district gymnastics meet.

Homan took first place in the vault (9.075), uneven parallel bars (9.150) and floor exercise (9.35) to win the all-around with a 36.425 score. Alexis Moloney of Findlay won the other individual title, posting a score of 9.25 in the balance beam competition.

Perrysburg won the team title with 135.10 points, while Napoleon took second at 133.750, seven-tenths of a point more than Findlay.

The Yellow Jackets were led by Macy Nordhaus, who finished third in the all-around competition with a 35.250 score. Nordhaus, who advanced to the state meet for the fourth straight year, placed second on the beam (8.925) and in floor exercise (9.10), fourth in the bars (8.70) and fifth in the vault (8.525).

The top two teams and the top five individuals advance to the state tournament at Hilliard Darby High School near Columbus. The team competition will take place Friday, with the individual events on Saturday.
