Patriots improve mark to 5-0

METAMORA Clay Maas returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown, and it was all Patrick Henry from there as they rolled past Evergreen 48-14.

Luke George led the Patriots (5-0, 4-0) with a 12-of-13 passing effort for 237 yards, including TD passes of 23 yards to Austin Bower and a 64-yarder to Brian Kline.

Kline finished with 105 yards receiving, while George added 66 yards on the ground.

Jordan McCready was 5-of-13 passing for 65 yards for Evergreen (1-4, 1-3) and scored on a 10-yard run.

DELTA Paulding s Haden Sholl threw three TD passes to Andrew Mott, and Mott added an 80-yard punt return in the nonconference win.

Sholl threw scoring strikes of 25, 1,1 and 53 yards to Mott as Paulding scored the game s first 35 points.

Delta s Reid Rayfield had touchdown runs of one and three yards and added a 65-yard TD toss to Korbin Smith.

BRYAN The host Golden Bears bolted to a 34-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win over their Williams County rival.

Levi Fisher had a pair of four-yard TD runs, and Alex Nossaman caught scoring passes of 41 and 62 yards from Cody Keil to lead Bryan (3-2, 2-1).

Colton Poncsak returned an interception 25 yards for a TD, and Cody Costanzo and Tony Nededog added scoring runs in the third quarter.

Kyle McCarty scored on a 12-yard run for the Locos (0-5, 0-4) to avert the shutout.
