Comets roll by Bears to remain unbeaten

GIBSONBURG Genoa spotted Gibsonburg a touchdown before rolling to a 59-6 victory last night in Suburban Lakes League play.

Quarterback Matt Bassitt figured in three scores for the Comets (8-0, 5-0), tossing touchdown passes to Zach Apel?? (16 yards), Greg Hillabrand (22 yards) and Blair Skilliter (34 yards).

Hillabrand also had a 26-yard rushing touchdown and Skilliter a 20-yarder.

Marcus Vicars, Alex Eckel and Matt Murphy also reached the end zone for Genoa.

Andy Gerbich of Gibsonburg (3-5, 2-3) caught a five-yard TD pass from Tony Egbert.

BLOOMDALE Thor Bottesch led the Elmwood scoring parade with two touchdowns on runs of 20 and 10 yards, rushing for 84 yards on 11 carries.

Reed Rothenbuhler picked up 158 yards rushing on 17 carries for the Royals (5-3, 3-2) and threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Adam Tyson.

Elmwood also scored on a six-yard run by Shannon Stewart and a one-yard run by

Kyle Benschoter.

Woodmore (2-6, 2-3) tallied on an 80-yard jaunt by Max Nusser (who had 110 yards rushing on 15 carries) and on a 33-yard pass from John Sandwisch to Justin Garver.

MILLBURY Eastwood rolled up 543 rushing yards on 45 carries to finish with 696 total yards in the win.

Cody Seifert led the Eagles (6-2, 4-1) with 137 yards on nine carries with TD runs of 20 and 68.

Mark Schlumbohm added 93 yards on five carries with a 36-yard TD run.

Mike Mathews had 53 rushing yards on seven carries for Lake (3-5, 1-4).

KANSAS Lakota piled up more than 500 yards of offense, and held Otsego to under 80 total yards as the Raiders rolled to victory at home.

John Timmons tossed three touchdown passes and finished 11-of-19 for 281 yards through the air. Timmons threw two touchdown pssses to Jacob Smith (80, 28). He tossed the other to Chris Cleman. Austin McGown rushed for three Raider touchdowns (2, 33, 9). McGown finished with 120 yards on 11 carries. Jeremy Robbins added 86 yards on 20 carries.

Tony Gerwin led Otsego with 76 yards on 23 carries.
